Rauw Alejandro

Raul Alejandro OcasioRuiz (born on January 10, 1993) is professionally known as Rauw Alejandro, is a Puerto Rican singer and songwriter. He has been called the "King Of Modern Reggaeton".[2][3He is part of the "new generation" of Puerto Rican musicians. His debut album, Afrodisiaco (studio album), was released in November of 2020. The album that followed Vice Versa, which was released in June 2021. It featured the lead single "Todo de Ti". He's won two Latin Grammy Awards from twelve nominations. Raul Alejandro Olasio-Ruiz was born in San Juan (Puerto Rico) on the 10th January 1993. His family was raised in Carolina and Canovanas. [4][5] His father Raul Ocasio Ruiz was a musician and his mother Maria Nelly Ruiz was his backing vocalist. They introduced him to the music of Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley. [6] Alejandro lived with his father for a long time throughout the United States, mostly New York City and Miami and Miami, where were influenced by R&B and dancehall. [7][8] Alejandro and fellow Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA are childhood acquaintances. They were both at the same school and had classes together. [9][10] Alejandro was a dancer with talent as a child and competed in talent shows. After having completed high school, Alejandro enrolled at University of Puerto Rico. From the age of 6 until the age of 20 He played soccer but then he decided to quit because he "could not perform as he expected to" and was injured when he was 20. In order to be scouted by the Premier Development League (PDL) the player moved to Orlando, Florida. Rauw Alejandro's style of music includes Latin R&B, reggaeton, dancehall, and rhythmic pop. Billboard claimed that his music "set him apart" from the growing number of Reggaetoneros with a pop-leaning. He was first influenced by Presley and Jackson as well as later on by Ricky Martin, Daddy Yankee and Chris Brown.
